Care for Fiji Raceday Lunch, Gold Coast Turf Club October 8, 2022
Get ready gang to be reconnected after so many long months, post covid… laughter and kailas will fill the room as we relax and revel in our Fijian Affinity and love for one another.
We all worked hard to get together again on October 9-10 2021, but had to cancel due to the covid cases in Australia, NZ and Fiji. So, let’s look forward to a special lunch event on October 8, 2021.
Lunch Venue
Gold Coast Turf Club provides a unique and immersive dining experience draped with the iconic Gold Coast skyline and racecourse as centre stage.
— The FijiLIFE Foundation Care for Fiji Raceday Lunch is from 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday October 8, 2022.
— Exclusive Afterparty: Heineken Bar 5:00 pm – 7 pm
— The Dinner Venue is the Gold Coast Event Centre Northern Hall, located within the Gold Coast Turf Club (GCTC) precinct. Please see venue map below for further details – Area 17.
— The Venue is located on ground level with some entrance steps.
— There are ramps to enter the club and access via wheelchairs, walkers and the like is easy.
— East facing wall comprise glass doors to exit onto a concrete verandah and grassed outdoor area
— Floor coverings are concrete on major walkways and low pile commercial carpet.
— Tables are wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs and walkers are able to move freely around furnished areas.
— Qualified/accredited First Aid officers on duty during every shift.
— Security staff rostered – monitoring club for safety purposes.
— Accessible restrooms (including disability) are located in the north hall of the Event Centre.
— External food and beverages are not to be bought on the race course.
FijiLIFE Foundation Care for Fiji Raceday Lunch Menu
Platinum Buffet is included in your events payment fee (TBA). A variety of food will be served including locally caught prawns and Australian sourced freshly shucked oysters, pork, chicken, reef fish and seasonal vegetables (see attachment). The menu is curated around fresh and seasonal produce and may differ slightly on the day. Please advise us of any customised dietary needs.
Is liquor available to purchase?
A Cash/Card Bar will be onsite, provided by GCTC.
Is there an ATM available?
ATM’s are conveniently located onsite.

Can I smoke onsite?
Smoking is NOT ALLOWED in the Luncheon venue. A designated smoking area (DOSA) outside is provided and signed.
What is the Luncheon seating?
35 tables of 10 seating are provided. Each table is sponsored with products/services on display.
Tables will be allocated on a Family/Group name basis. Please advise Admins of your table name.
How do I get to the racecourse?
The Gold Coast Turf Club is conveniently located 5kms from all the action of Surfers Paradise, making public transport a suitable option. The Club also provides courtesy buses on Saturdays and all feature racedays (except during Covid-19).
TransLink’s bus, train and tram network can connect you to places all over the Gold Coast. Their integrated network on the Gold Coast includes the G:link trams, Surfside bus lines and Queensland Rail. Visit translink.com.au or call 13 12 30 for information or to plan your journey.
TransLink’s integrated tickets are a great way to get around. Travel on bus, train or tram with go card or grab a Gold Coast goexplore for bus and tram travel.
In addition, the Uber, Didi and Ola apps work right across the Gold Coast area.
Can I park my car there?
There is ample parking at the Gold Coast Turf Club, and is free to all patrons. Members Only have exclusive parking next to the Club. Public parking is available on the southern side of Racecourse Drive.

What To Wear?
Ladies: Neat dress in keeping with modern standards. Let’s see all those Mumus please ladies.
Unacceptable: Thongs, Sandshoes or Midriffs
Gentlemen: Encouraged to wear smart dress or business attire. Short or long sleeve Bula/collared shirt, collared polo, tailored trousers, dress jeans with belt and closed in dress shoes. Jacket, blazer or tie are optional.
Unacceptable: Ripped or dishevelled jeans, Caps, Shorts, Thongs, Sandals, Sandshoes, Runners, Skate or Street Shoes
Public Areas — General Admission Areas, Public Bars, Public Betting Auditorium, Southern Lawn.
Ladies and Gentlemen:
- Minimum respectable dress standards are required for general admission.
- Footwear must be worn at all times.
- Dress t-shirts, collared shirts, jumpers, dress shorts and jeans are acceptable attire in public areas.

FIJILIFE FOUNDATION CARE FOR FIJI FUND RAISING APPEAL
The FijiLIFE Foundation Care for Fiji Lunch for Fiji Day on October 8, 2022 will be a wonderful occasion for Kaivitis from all over Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, United States, Canada, Great Britain and Ireland to get together with school mates from the 1940’s to 1990’s, their families, friends and business associates. We expect a sell-out fundraiser, where guests will be treated to a gourmet buffet lunch, special guest speakers, a range of fantastic raffle tickets for holidays in Fiji, lucky door prizes and auction items.
The focus of the evening will be the FijiLIFE Foundation Care for Fiji Fundraising Appeal for poor and disadvantaged Fijians in Fiji suffering from diabetes, spinal injury or are physically challenged, breast cancer, and people who are blind or partially sighted.
As a registered charity, FijiLIFE Foundation is looking forward to participants, partners, supporters, and everyone who can join in our lottery online, to give generously on the day. All funds raised will be forwarded to Fiji charities only, in accordance with FijiLIFE Foundation’s purpose.
